Online Registration is now open for our first six events. Mail in registration will be open in the next couple days but we wanted to give participants a head start on our all new, in house registration system. All of our events will now have online registration with no fees! Now you don’t have to give an extra three to six dollars to a third party registration company. Let us know what you think!

I recently had the opportunity to talk with last years first place winner of our 200 mile Desperado Dual, Breck Bennion. He sounds excited for another go at the Desperado Dual. Here are a few stats and pictures.

Desperado Dual – Rider bio Steve Fellows

Last year Steve Fellows, from Las Vegas, was our second place winner in the 200 mile Event. Here is a bit about him and what he thought of the Desperado Dual. We are looking forward to seeing Steve ride again this year.

The Desperado Dual is one of my favorite events of the year. I wouldn’t miss it.

I am 43 years old and live with my wife and three daughters in Las Vegas, Nevada where I work for a San Diego based company called Pacific Coast Steel. I also currently serve on the Board of the Utah Shakespeare Festival which brings me back to the area often and allows me to go on long training rides in the cool and clean air and beautiful views of Color Country. I believe the area is a part of me because I grew up in Las Vegas and spent a great deal of my weekends and holidays skiing, fishing and hiking with my family in the beautiful Southern Utah Mountains. I still think of the many fishing trips I had with my Dad growing up when I ride by Panguitch Lake and those thoughts inspire me to finish that grueling climb up to the Mammoth Creek on the Desperado Dual Coarse.

My friend David Kelsey first introduced me to the Desperado Dual 5 or 6 years ago and I’ve loved the event ever since. We always stay at the Lamplighter Inn or the Horizon Motel which are right at the start/finish and eat at the Cowboy Smokehouse the night before the event. We first began riding in the Desperado Dual as preparation for Lotoja. The Desperado Dual provides the best possible preparation for Lotoja. Whenever my friends and I ride the DD, we always have a successful Lotoja (including David Francis (overall winner), Al Thresher (current course record holder) and Breck Bennion (multiple category winner)). My favorite Lotoja was when I broke away with local hero and Desperado Dual participant Brian Jepson who owns a bike shop in Cedar City and we rode together all the way to the finish to finish first and second in our category. But the best thing about the Desperado Dual is the camaraderie we are able to share with our friends and the new friends we make while working together to accomplish the tremendous goal of finishing the grueling 200 miles of the Desperado Dual.

Watchman 100 – Springdale and Zion Pictures

The Watchman 100 Century Ride starting in Washington City, Utah and connecting at Zion National Park. On this ride you will travel through Sand Hollow State Park and view the majestic scenery of Zion National Park. This will be a very beautiful event and I am looking forward to seeing the sites along the route. Springdale Utah lies at the southwest entrance to Zion National Park and is the closest gateway city in the vicinity of the park, here are a few pictures from the area.
